Pep Guardiola is prepared to spend big to sign Benfica goalkeeper in January

Pep Guardiola is ready to nip his goalkeeping problem in the bud in January with a big money bid for Benfica stopper Ederson. The 23-year-old Brazilian has been scouted by Manchester City in recent weeks with some of the club’s scouts in attendance for their recent defeat to Napoli in the Champions League.
The transfer pursuit comes as a result of the poor form of Claudio Bravo. The Chilean goalie has failed to settle in England after moving from Barcelona in the summer. He’s looked a little unsure in the physical battlefield that the Premier League is at times. He’s not helped by terrible defending but Guardiola has other defensive targets.
A Bola reported that City are ready to splash up to £30 million out on Ederson, who’s contract expires in 2020. He’s rated as one of the best up-and-coming goalkeepers in the world and impressed in the Lisbon derby at the weekend, making a number of key saves as Benfica won 2-1 against City rivals Sporting Club.
