Paul Pogba reacted to the stunning news of Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United sacking by appearing to troll his former boss on social media before deleting his posts.

Mourinho was sacked on Tuesday and leaves United 19 points off Premier League leaders Liverpool, who ended his reign with a 3-1 win at Anfield on Sunday.

It was no secret that he and Pogba did not see eye to eye, with the Frenchman an unused substitute at the weekend, and he made it clear by posting a picture of himself appearing to revel in the news on both Twitter and Instagram before deleting it.

Who will replace Mourinho remains to be seen, but it is likely that a caretaker manager will come in until the end of the season before a permanent appointment is made in the summer.

Zinedine Zidane is out of work since leaving Real Madrid in the summer and he has been hotly tipped, while Mauricio Pochettino has also been mentioned but it will be tough to get him out of Tottenham.

United face Cardiff at the weekend, and they certainly do have a mountain to climb if they are to qualify for the Champions League next season.
