Monaco find their replacement for Paris saint Germain bound Kylian Mbappe
Monaco have seemingly signed former Manchester City flop Stevan Jovetic as their replacement for Kylian Mbappe who will reportedly join PSG this week.
The forward is formerly of Fiorentina and Manchester City who he joined in 2013 and went on to make only 28 in three years at the club.
The Montenegro striker then joined Inter Milan after failing to impress several managers at the Etihad and was unable to have an impact at the San Siro as well.
Jovetic made 26 appearances in his initial loan spell from City before only making five appearances in the first half of last season before moving to Sevilla on loan.
Now, the player is set to join Monaco as Kylian Mbappe’s replacement after images were leaked on social media of the players’ photoshoot, which showed Jovetic in the number 10 shirt, which is currently occupied by Mbappe.
That would certainly suggest that the French starlet is on his way out of Monaco after several reports this week that PSG had agreed a deal to take the player to the Parc De Princes on an initial loan with an option to buy.
The reason for the loan is said to be so that PSG can avoid any sanctions from Financial Fair Play after they completed a deal to sign Neymar Jr from Barcelona during the current window.
Another incredible fee would have footballs governing body on their tails and PSG know that they would be unable to avoid a huge sanction if they were to pay the fee for Mbappe during this window.
Hence, if the player signs on loan until next season, the club can then pay his fee then and would seemingly be able to avoid Financial Fair Play sanctions.
