Mohamed Salah picked up where he left off last season at Anfield against West Ham on Sunday, opening the scoring in a 4-0 win for Liverpool.
The Egyptian, who won the Premier League’s Golden Boot last term with 32 goals, took just 19 minutes to find the net, before Sadio Mane netted a brace and substitute Daniel Sturridge scored 24 seconds after his introduction.
But one thing some may have missed was a young child making his way onto the pitch during the game to get close to Salah. Fans were understandably angry at the situation, but Salah showed his class in the way he dealt with the situation.
There were some doubts over whether Salah could continue his goal scoring exploits, and though nothing is certain, it has been an excellent start to the new campiagn.
Now he is expected to lead Liverpool’s charge towards a first Premier League title after a summer that saw them spend nearly £200million on improving their already impressive squad.
