It appears that Manchester United’s new home shirt has been all but confirmed after a picture emerged of a mannequin draped in it. Once again made by Adidas as their £750million contract continues, there are subtle differences from this year’s kit, but it definitely does appear to be a very smart kit that most fans will surely be happy with.

As always, there had been many rumours and mock ups of potential options. There is always a lot of excitement when a new kit comes out, and it is part of the ritual for fans when a new season comes around.
But more importantly is what will happen in terms of the transfer window, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping to challenge for the Premier League title in his first full season as manager. He is expected to oversee a huge squad overhaul, with a number of big name players reportedly up for sale.

Ander Herrera is said to be set to join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer when his contract expires, while Juan Mata appears to be coming towards the end of his Old Trafford career too.

In terms of incomings, Benfica youngster Joao Felix, who became the first player to score a hat-trick in Europe since Eusebio last week, is on their wanted list according to reports. Though a number of big clubs are also chasing him, so it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

The most intense speculation surrounds their hunt for a centre back. With Eric Bailly supposedly set to leave in the summer, Solskjaer wants to strengthen his back line. Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly is the man most heavily linked with reports earlier this week that a record bid for a defender is being prepared.
Towards the end of the season, United will be hoping to qualify for next season’s Champions League. They are in the race for the top four in the Premier League, while they’ll also reach the last four of this year’s competition with victory over Barcelona on Tuesday.
