Manchester United set to reopen contract talks with star
Manchester United are planning to hand Anthony Martial a new contract amid talks there’s interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Frenchman has 15 months left on his deal and United are keen to extend it. Sources close to the club tell Freebets.co.uk they are confident of agreeing on terms.
Martial held initial talks with United in December and although they couldn’t come to an agreement then, the club will reopen talks imminently and are confident of striking a deal with the France international.
Since joining United from AS Monaco, Martial has scored 36 goals in 129 appearances. He struggled to established himself during Mourinho’s first season in charge but has been more prolific this campaign, netting 11 times in his 38 matches.

Arsenal enquired about the 22-year-old’s availability in January during negotiations over Alexis Sanchez’s transfer but United weren’t letting Martial go to a domestic rival. Both clubs struck a deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan instead.
According to ESPN, Martial does not want to leave the club and is settled in Manchester with his partner, who is expecting a child. Sanchez’s arrival, however, has created more competition for places and Marcus Rashford has already been squeezed down the pecking order.
It remains to be seen whether Martial will feature versus Liverpool on Saturday. He missed the dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Crystal Palace on Monday night through injury.
