Manchester United set for huge bidding war with rivals Man City over midfielder
Manchester United will battle Manchester City for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred in the summer transfer window.
Pep Guardiola’s side looked certain to sign the player in the summer after they decided against a move in the January transfer window two months ago.
There were many reports that the Brazilian had agreed to sign for the Etihad side in the summer but that may not be true with the latest reports suggesting the battle from his signature is far from over.
Reports on Sunday from the Daily Mirror suggest that Manchester United have entered the race for the player and will engage in a bidding war with their Manchester rivals in an attempt to scupper their hopes of signing Fred.
As for Fellaini’s replacement, one man who comes to mind is Fred. The Brazilian is set to cost in the region of £50million but the fee could now raise over that mark with United getting involved.

The Mirror report claims that Jose Mourinho’s United are ‘very much in the market’ and that the Portuguese boss will demand some big signings in an attempt to challenge Pep Guardiola’s side next year.
Though, it’s certainly going to be a very tight race for Fred’s signature after the Brazilian tore teams apart both in the Champions League and the Ukranian top flight.
