Manchester United could be set to move for Leicester defender Harry Maguire and it could cost them a world record fee.
That is because news on Sunday afternoon has suggested that Jose Mourinho and Manchester United are fully aware that the club would need to break the world record fee for a defender if they wanted to sign the player.
Not only do they know that, they are seemingly willing to go that high with Sky Sports also suggesting that the club are readying a bid for the player.
While it is highly unlikely that bid will already be more than Virgil Van Dijk’s fee, the eventual fee could eclipse the fee that saw the Dutch defender join Liverpool.

Maguire burst onto the scene a couple of seasons ago for Hull, despite them being relegated back to the Championship.
They were then picked up by Leicester and was voted as their player of the season before heading to the World Cup with Gareth Southgate’s England.
That skyrocketed his reputation as he was one of the most impressive players in a historic campaign for the country.
Now, with Manchester United on the lookout for a new centre-back, it looks like Harry Maguire is the man that they want.
However, it’s going to take a boatload of cash to get Leicester to part with now their most prized asset.
