Manchester United prepare to offload star to fund summer moves
Jose Mourinho is open to the idea of selling Anthony Martial in order to raise funds for new recruits at Manchester United this summer, per The Sun.
Martial, 21, joined United two years ago from Monaco, becoming the world’s most expensive teenager after the deal, which could rise to £58million, was completed.
He enjoyed a good first season at Old Trafford, scoring a famous goal against Liverpool on his debut before ending the season as top scorer and helping them win the FA Cup.
But Mourinho’s arrival last summer, replacing Louis van Gaal, saw Martial fall out of favour. Both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rashford have been preferred to him up front, meaning he has often been played out wide.
And with reported interest in Antoine Griezmann and Ivan Perisic this summer, Martial knows his place in the team at Old Trafford could be under even more threat next season.

United are keen to sign at least four players to strengthen their assault on both the Premier League and Champions League next season.
