Manchester United are preparing a move for £35m rated West Ham winger Dimtri Payet according to the Daily Mirror.
Jose Mourinho is keen to bring in extra quality to help make his Old Trafford attack more effective and wants to bring in the French international in the January transfer window.
29-year-old Hammers star Payet may well be tempted by a move to Man United given just how poorly his East London side have performed this term.
West Ham did well last term to finish a top seven finish ahead of their move to the Olympic Stadium but Slaven Bilic has failed to continue the club’s forward momentum in 2016/17 and this could well leave Payet’s future in doubt.
Payet only signed a new £125k a week deal in February and could well cost a big fee if Manchester United were to come calling.
Mourinho is also showing a great deal of interest in Atletico Madrid’s Belgian star Yannick Carrasco but may find that nut an even tougher one to crack.
Last season Payet grabbed nine goals and 12 assists in Premier League action alone and is very much a fan favourite at the club and West Ham can ill afford to lose such a key player with a relegation fight on their hands.
