Jose Mourinho has come in for some major criticism after Paul Pogba’s comments about feeling trusted.
The United player skippered the side for their opening game win over Leicester City, and it seems that Pogba is someone who could go on to bigger and better things.
Chris Sutton said that the player is far more needed by Man United than the other way around, and called on manager Jose Mourinho to show the player far more respect.
Mourinho has been very critical of Pogba, and it seems that people are starting to get sick and tired of that. Pogba produced a great display in United’s first game, and the fans could well turn on Mourinho.
The same could be said of the players, who may even back Pogba over the friction between the midfielder and Mourinho.
“What was the point of Jose’s criticism of Pogba after the World Cup, saying he needs to do it in a United shirt?” Sutton told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“What was the point? Every action has a consequence and that’s clearly upset Paul Pogba.
“Manchester United need Paul Pogba more than Paul Pogba needs Manchester United right now. And that’s the bottom line.
“He was their best player on Friday night. And why should he hang around for Jose, really, when all he does is sly little digs at him?”
