Manchester United look increasingly likely to sign Real Madrid star James Rodriguez in JanuaryPublished September 16, 2016
It looks like Real Madrid star James Rodriguez, will finally get his long awaited move from Real Madrid to the Premier League.
The Colombian midfielder has become increasingly frustrated with life on the bench at the Santiago Bernabeu over the last couple of seasons, and this summer, the 25-year-old tried to engineer a move away form Spain, in order to gain first-team football.
Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea were all reportedly interested in making a move to bring the player to the Premier League in England, with concrete efforts made to sign the midfielder.
It was thought that Rodriguez would be allowed to leave the club in the summer, but the Madrid hierarchy had a change of heart and decided to keep the player until January at least.
And according to reports out of Spain, it’s Manchester United that could be the player’s next destination come the start of 2017.
Spanish website Don Balon, believe that James Rodriguez has chosen Old Trafford as his next destination, with the Manchester club now in talks with the La Liga giants in a bid to strike a deal come the beginning of January.
It’s thought that Jose Mourinho is keen on working with the player, and that a fee in the region of £55m, could be enough to persuade the Madrid hierarchy to part ways with the Colombian midfielder.
