Manchester United and Leicester plan swap deal as January transfer plans take shapePublished September 26, 2016
Manchester United are interested in signing Leicester midfielder Danny Drinkwater in January, but the Foxes will demand that Morgan Schneiderlin be included in any potential deal, according to a report coming out of The Mirror on Monday.
The England international was an essential member of the Foxes side that stunned the football world to become shock Premier League champions in 2015-16.
Drinkwater is a former United youth player but left Old Trafford after not being given an opportunity to shine in the Premier League for his boyhood club.
A report in The Sun last week suggested that Jose Mourinho could turn to the Leicester star to solve his midfield problems and that Drinkwater would be an ideal partner for Paul Pogba.
However, should United step up their interest in the England international, parting with Schneiderlin could well be necessary if the latest report is to be believed.
The France international has been on the fringes of first-team action at Old Trafford since Mourinho’s arrival and has been linked with a move away from Manchester in January.
