Manchester United launch £28m bid for cultured nidfielder as Jose Mourinho continues summer spendingPublished June 22, 2016
Manchester United are ready to put in a fresh offer for Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan according to the Daily Mirror.
By all accounts the Old Trafford side failed with an opening offer of £19m for the Armenian international and will now make a fresh move for the 27-year-old, said to be in the region of £28m and as a result Borussia Dortmund may struggle to keep hold of the cultured playmaker.
Mkhitaryan moved to the Westfalenstadion from Shakhtar Donestk back in June 2013 and has proven a very consistent performer.
Last term the versatile midfielder, who can play in a ‘number 10’ role or out wide, finished as the leading assist maker in the Bundesliga with his total of 15 some way ahead of second place Karim Bellarabi. His tally of 23 goals in 78 Bundesliga starts also displays the Dortmund star’s ability in front of goal.
News of the potenial arrival of Mkhitaryan may well cause Juan Mata some consternation as the Spaniard is certainly a player who would have to fight the player for selection and speculation is rife that Jose Mourinho is ready to sell the Spaniard, having done so during his Chelsea reign.
