Manchester United fear they could lose David de Gea on a free transfer in the summer, with Tuesday’s Champions League opponents Juventus waiting in the wings.
The Spaniard’s contract runs out soon, and although United do have an option to extend it by a year, they will be wary of potential suitors for the man many believe is the best goalkeeper in the world.
After years of rumours linking him with Real Madrid, and almost signing for them in 2015 but for a fax machine issue, de Gea has seen Thibaut Courtois move to the Spanish capital, meaning that option is no longer available.
"I am not confident, but I'm also not worried. I cannot find the word in English, but let's see what happens."

He has always maintained his happiness at Old Trafford, but if Juve, who beat United 1-0 last week, come calling them it may be tough to turn them down.
As for the Italian champions, their interest in de Gea would be understandable after losing Gianluigi Buffon last summer. Wojciech Szczesny has since replaced him but he could be usurped if they get their man.
