Two Manchester United fans hid in an Old Trafford toilet overnight in a failed attempt to bunk into Saturday’s clash against Arsenal.
With tickets for the high-profile game sold out well in advance, the duo spent Friday evening in the stadium before eventually being spotted during a security sweep of the ground on Saturday morning.
It is understood that the supporters in question detached themselves from the main group on an official club tour on Friday afternoon, before proceeding to hide in the toilets for an extended period of time.
After being handed over the police by club officials, the pair were finally released without arrest after they were deemed to not have endangered the public.
Despite not giving a statement on the incident, United are adamant that the security breach was only minor, as all fans are searched and put through a metal detector upon entering Old Trafford.
Although the duo get 10/10 for effort and ingenuity, this is without doubt another case of ‘don’t try this at home’, folks.
On the pitch, the two rivals shared the spoils after Olivier Giroud’s late header cancelled out Juan Mata’s 68th minute opener.
