Liverpool and Chelsea have been left disappointed in their pursuit of Martin Svidersky, after the Slovakian teenage sensation agreed a deal to join Manchester United.
Svidersky, a midfielder who is only 15, had attracted interest from a number of British clubs, including the Blues and the Reds as well as West Ham and Scottish champions Celtic.
He had put in a string of impressive performances for his club, Presov, and will line up with compatriot Alex Fojticek, an 18-year-old goalkeeper, in the under-18 squad.
The youngster, who can speak five languages, took to social media to sum up his feelings of joining United.
He wrote on Instagram: “A day I will never forget. Delighted to sign my first contract with Manchester United.
“I would like to thank my family, friends but especially God for big support.
“Many more things to come in future.”
