Manchester City target summer raid for £50million Premier League defender
Manchester City believe they can snare Danny Rose from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, if Luke Shaw moves to White Hart Lane, per the Daily Mirror.
City boss Pep Guardiola wants to spend £50million on the England left-back as he looks to rebuild his defence, with Bacary Sagna, Gael Clichy and Vincent Kompany all set to leave the club.
Spurs will not want to sell Rose, but the prospect of a £750million bill for their new stadium, plus the availability of Shaw, who is seemingly unwanted at Manchester United, may sway them into a sale.
Shaw, 21, has made just eight Premier League appearances for the Red Devils this season and has been publicly criticised by boss Jose Mourinho.
He joined the club for £30million as an 18-year-old in 2014 after impressing under now Spurs coach Mauricio Pochettino at Southampton.
While a horrific leg break last season has stunted his development, the Argentine believes he can get Shaw’s career back on track and wants a reunion in North London this summer.
