Manchester United star Paul Pogba may have joked about Manchester City players picking up an injury and how that could help his side United, but ahead of the derby and biggest game of the season so far, it seems karma may have come back to haunt him.
Manchester City fans and some pundits didn’t find the joke from Pogba funny at all, and took offence – so when the player was subsequently sent off during United’s win over Arsenal – and found himself facing a three game ban that would include the derby, the reaction was just as expected.
However, Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne has hit out at reports Pogba has got just what he deserved, and claimed it’s not karma – at least in his eyes, and that Pogba is a huge player for United, and he wants to play teams and beat them when they’re at full strength, not without their key men who can be used as excuses after the match.

The Express report he said: “I don’t believe in that s***. I’m a very straightforward guy. If someone believes it is karma then okay. Everyone has a right to their opinion.
“I don’t care – he can say whatever he wants. I don’t want anyone to get injured. It’s a competition, you want to play against the best teams and the best players.
“He’s a massive player. I know him a little bit. He’s unbelievable. But he took a red card and that’s the way it goes. You have injuries and suspensions. We just have to be focused on whatever we’re doing.”
