Manchester City star says he is staying this summer
Manchester City striker Sergio Agüero says he will stay at the club this summer, but refused to commit beyond the end of his contract, per Sky.
Agüero has been at City since 2011, when he joined from Atletico Madrid and has gone on to become a club legend. His title-winning goal against QPR less than a year after signing was a particular highlight.
But this season has not been plain sailing, despite scoring 20 goals. New boss Pep Guardiola has not been afraid to leave him out of the team in favour of Gabriel Jesus, who arrived in January.
A rift between the two has increased speculation that the Argentine could leave, especially with Alexis Sanchez and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang reported targets for Guardiola.
But Agüero insists he is going nowhere this summer.
“I still have two years on my contract with Manchester City,” Aguero said.
“I feel very happy here, so I will fulfil my contract to stay here until the end of my contract.
“I have not thought about where to play next. I just want to focus on the work here.”
