Manchester City to sign Chelsea star next summer: £20m deal lined up as Pep Guardiola looks to complete audacious swoop
Manchester City are lining up an audacious move to sign Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas in a £20m deal next summer according to The Sun.
The 29-year-old has found it hard to force his way into Antonio Conte’s starting eleven this term and is understandably unhappy about warming the bench and could well be keen on reuniting with his former Barcelona boss at the Etihad Stadium.
Chelsea are well known for turning down sales to Premier League rivals and as such may not be open to such a sale and AC Milan and Juventus are also known to be keen on the former Arsenal man.
Fabregas has started just one Premier League fixture this season and Man City are ready to offer £20m for the Blues man.
Guardiola signed Fabregas during his time at the Nou Camp and is said to retain a good relationship with the Spanish international.
City are even ready to offer the midfielder an improvement on his current £160k a week deal in order to get the deal completed in January.
Chelsea brought in Fabregas two years ago and in his first season the creative playmaker played a key role in guiding the West London side to a Premier League title triumph, however last season he was far less effective and the arrival of N’Golo Kante has hampered his progress under Conte.
