Manchester City boss outlines his summer transfer plans
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola admits he wants to sign British players in the summer as he continues to get to grips with the Premier League, per Sky.
Guardiola arrived at City with a lot of media attention and a great reputation after unrivalled success at both Barcelona and Bayern Munich. There was a lot of interest in how he would get on in the English game.
After going unbeaten in his first ten games this year, it looked as though he would find it easy, but some poor results since have poked holes in his unique philosophy.
Guardiola himself has admitted he has work to do and he has credited the level of talent English players have ahead of the summer transfer window.
“I am really impressed with how many good English players your country has,” said Guardiola.
“Tottenham players; the English players are all amazing. I would like English players because they know the league and that is much better.”
Tottenham pair Danny Rose and Kyle Walker, as well as Jack Wilshere who is on loan from Arsenal at Bournemouth, are reportedly among the English talent on Guardiola’s wishlist.
