Man United Take One Step Closer to Triggering Astounding £87m Transfer: This Deal Would Give Mourinho Best Attack In World Football
Antoine Griezmann is rethinking his future at Atletico Madrid and could join Manchester United after further speculations over Jan Oblak’s future.
Spanish outlet Don Balon say the Atletico superstar is unhappy that the Madrid goalkeeper could be sold to Paris Saint Germain, as well as the club unable to close a deal with Diego Costa.
The 26-year-old Frenchman scored 26 goals from 53 games last season, becoming one of the top targets for Jose Mourinho. While he was linked earlier this season with the Red Devils, he opted to stay, remaining loyal to the club who were hit with a transfer ban. Griezmann was convinced to stay in Madrid after the club promised they would improve the squad in the upcoming months.
New revelations of Oblak’s potential departure has forced the Frenchman to give manager Diego Simeone an ultimatum. He admitted there was a ‘six out of 10’ chance he would join United and said he will be the next player to leave if his goalkeeper leaves the club.
The Red Devils also promised Griezmann the number 7 jersey when he signs for them, and would provide Mourinho the strongest attacking presence in the league. The Atletico star would join Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku, in what would make the club title favourites and force in Europe.
