Everyone in Madrid might be talking about their third Champions League win in a row, and the future of both Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo, but the rest of world football is focusing on something else altogether.
That something is of course the errors committed by Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius, which all but handed the Champions League title to Real Madrid.
In the immediate aftermath of the game, it was left to Gareth Bale to console the stopper, who was so gutted he was left in tears as he tried to apologise to the Liverpool fans.
He’s since taken to social media to apologise again, and despite the horrific abuse he received from some fans, others have supported him – as have some players, with current Man United defender Eric Bailly offering him some support.
Of course, all players make errors, and it’s easy to forget the fact Karius is only 24-years-old and a human being as well, and while the focus is on him and most likely will be for some time, Liverpool are going about their summer transfer business already.
The Reds have brought in Fabinho from Monaco, who can of course play as both a defensive midfielder and an attacking right back – and have already secured a deal for Naby Keita, with Nabil Fekir thought to be another top target for Klopp, who isn’t resting on his laurels after defeat.
