Man United star admits he could leave this summer
Manchester United player Ashley Young may have skippered the side this weekend during the win over league leaders Chelsea, but according to the player himself, an exit could still be on the cards.
Young nearly left the club in January, after deciding he wanted to play more football, yet stayed and has featured under Mourinho sporadically in the second half of the season.
United have faced injury issues and the fact that they’ve had a fixture backlog, and Young is aware he’s far from first choice. He also knows that Mourinho will bring in new players come the summer, and that alone may see him leave the club – in a decision that may not even be his choice.
Young said: “There is always speculation, especially when there is a transfer window and you’re not playing.
“But I have always said that I want to play as much as possible. What the future holds, I’m not too sure.
“I’m looking to play as many games as I can between now and the end of the season. That’s what I’m concentrating on now. That’s the main focus for me and then we’ll see what happens.”
