Things are definitely looking up at Old Trafford.

After a succession of lean seasons following the retirement of former boss Sir Alex Ferguson it’s fair to say that Jose Mourinho is beginning to work his magic.

The Daily Mirror reports that Jose Mourinho has four top targets on his summer transfer wish-list and arguably the most eye-catching of these comes in the form of Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic.

The 28-year-old Serbian is enjoying a great campaign thus far, playing a key role in Antonio Conte’s resurgent Chelsea alongside N’Golo Kante, and is a player Mourinho knows well from his time at Stamford Bridge.

With Michael Carrick clearly in the latter stages of his career and with Morgan Schneiderlin having completed his £22m move to Everton, Matic may be an ideal central midfield capture.

Conte would be loathed to lose such a prominent member of his squad but perhaps the chance to once again team up with Mourinho would tempt the rangy performer.

Dybala Man United

The Sun claims another major Mourinho target comes in the form of Juventus ace Paulo Dybala, seen apparently as a long-term successor to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The 23-year-old Argentine has proven a big success since moving to Turin, racking up 23 goals in 45 Serie A appearances, and is said to be valued at around £50m.

Mourinho is also keen on refreshing his full-back options and The Sun, perhaps unrealistically, claim the Portuguese boss wants to secure Tottenham duo Kyle Walker and Danny Rose.

Rose Walker

The England international pair have been key to Mauricio Pochettino’s side this term, offering strong defensive capabilities combined with very effective attacking attributes.

Any move to sign the two players would be problematic, not least as the White Hart Lane side are clearly moving in the right direction.

After an uncertain start to his first season in charge of Man United Jose Mourinho has successfully turned the Premier League side’s ship around.

His charges are now unbeaten in 15 matches across all competitions, collecting nine successive wins to boot.
