Man United face battle with Inter Milan for £50m Roma starPublished January 10, 2017
Manchester United have a battle on their hands to sign AS Roma star Kostas Manolas, according to the Sun. Inter Milan have registered their interest for the Greek international and that could be bad news for the Red Devils.
The defender is tipped to spark a bidding war for his services with Roma keen on getting at least £50 million for their prized centre-half.
Inter will be hoping to clear out a few defenders at the end of the campaign. Andrea Ranocchia, Jeison Murillo and Miranda are expected to leave with yet another reboot kicked into gear. They didn’t have an ideal start to this campaign, deciding to sack Frank De Boer after only a few months in charge due to their poor opening. They have money and want to flex their muscles by pinching one of their rivals best players.
Jose Mourinho has said that he won’t be bringing another defender in during the January transfer market. However, he’s allegedly working on this deal behind the scenes after Victor Linelof’s proposed move from Benfica fell through.
His only current options at centre-half are Chris Smalling and Phil Jones. Marcos Rojo is injured and Eric Bailly is representing Ivory Coast at AFCON.
