Manchester United have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann according to Canal+.

The Old Trafford side have been pursuing the French international for some months and this respected source appears to believe the deal is as good as done.
By all accounts the 25-year-old will move to Old Trafford in the summer and the cost of the deal will be £85.1m, the fee needed to trigger the former Real Sociedad man’s release clause.
He will secure a contract worth £17.1m a year, the same as big signing Paul Pogba, and he will be handed the number seven squad number vacated by Memphis Depay following his move to Lyon last month.
Griezmann has proven a big success since moving to the Spanish capital, scoring 71 goals in 135 appearances, and finished as the top-scorer at last summer’s Euro 2016 finals.
The fact that Griezmann’s good friend Paul Pogba is back at Manchester United may well have proven the biggest motivation for the cultured attacker and with Atletico Madrid struggling to make an impact in La Liga, it’s perhaps no surprise the prolific marksman would be looking for a fresh challenge.
One imagines Jose Mourinho will have to have secured a Champions League berth to have any chance of completing such a deal and that’s by no means a foregone conclusion with Man United currently sitting down in sixth place.
Mourinho’s best chance of a Champions League berth may therefore come via a Europa League triumph.
