Liverpool plot shock swoop for Atletico Madrid frontman
Liverpool are keen on a move for Atletico Madrid’s Angel Correa as Jurgen Klopp looks ti add another striker to the ranks, per the Daily Mirror.
Correa, 22, is highly-rated by boss Diego Simeone but has struggled to break into the first team, with Antoine Griezmann often preferred in attack.
His chances could get even slimmer if Diego Costa ends up returning to the club from Chelsea.
But a stumbling block in the Costa deal is this summer’s transfer ban, which means Atleti will have to wait until January to register anyone, could hold up the Correa deal too.
Simeone is unlikely to be willing to let a player leave if he cannot be immediately replaced, but the Mirror are reporting he would want under £25million for the player.
If Klopp can negotiate a deal, it could leave Daniel Sturridge in limbo, with his future at Anfield looking extremely bleak.
