Liverpool manager slams players and casts doubt on their future after huge loss
Jurgen Klopp has hit out at his players following their loss to Leicester City in the Carabo Cup, and has made it clear he does not want to keep seeing defending like that.
The club have gone vastly downhill since their huge win over Arsenal, and have been hammered by Manchester City, losing Sadio Mane in the process, drawn with Burnley and now knocked out of the League Cup – a trophy they had a real chance of winning.
Now, it seems that real questions are being asked of the manager, who seems fuming at some of his players – and with Klopp’s own odds of being sacked slashed following the game, it seems he may well be willing to drop or axe players totally if this carries on.
The Express report Klopp said: “It’s easy to explain.
“We played really good football in the first half and that should have decided the game.
“We had big chances, we had strange situations.
“But football is a 90-minute game and it’s the second ball after a corner I think and a throw in again.
“I’m sick of goals like this to be honest.
“You cannot play football and, in this case this Leicester team somehow survive in the game because we are not clinical enough.
“Sometimes that’s OK but we should have concentrated until the end. They scored too easily.
“The first goal we didn’t push up together. I can say it one time or one thousand times.
“It’s not nice conceding these goals today again because of this.”
