Liverpool are keen on West Ham wide-man Michail Antonio and Jurgen Klopp is ready to use the Hammers’ interest in forward Daniel Sturridge to help secure a swap deal.
26-year-old winger Antonio has started the season with a bang after completing last term on a high and is now on the fringes of the England national team set-up and is seen by Klopp as a strong option to field on the right-hand side of his line-up.
Antonio is certainly more effective going forward but has also shown he is capable of filling a more defensive full-back role and has already netted five Premier League goals this term as well as providing Slaven Bilic with a very effective option on the flank.
Klopp doesn’t appear to rate Daniel Sturridge very highly and the former Man City and Chelsea man must be considering his future at the club.
The 27-year-old bagged a brace during Liverpool’s 2-1 EFL Cup win over Tottenham but has started just four of the club’s nine Premier League fixtures in 2016/17, and was subbed on each occasion.
A move to West Ham, who could certainly do with an effective goal-scoring option, could interest Sturridge as such a switch would bring a real shot at regular first-team action and the East London side have the finances to offer a competitive salary package for the lethal finisher.
