Jamie Carragher filmed spitting at Manchester United fan and his daughter
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has been filmed spitting at a Manchester United fan and his 14-year-old daughter after being taunted over the score at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Liverpool lost the game against fierce rivals Manchester United after a brace from Marcus Rashford saw Jose Mourinho’s side keep all three points in Manchester.
Though, the biggest story on Sunday comes in the form of the Carragher who was on the punditry team for the game between his former side and United on Saturday.
The former defender was driving home before a Man United fan started recording him and beeped at him, in which Jamie responded with a wave.
Though, it soon turned sour when the United fan wound down the window and showed his true colours, chanting the scoreline at the former defender as they drove along.
Carragher certainly didn’t see the funny side of it and proceeded to spit into the fans car, hitting his 14-year-old daughter in the process.
Really disappointed in Jamie Carragher. Seems like a decent bloke, enjoy his punditry as well, but there is absolutely no excuse for spitting at a 14 year old girl. Glad to hear he apologised. #mufc [Mirror] pic.twitter.com/BtPsRWf498— United Xtra (@utdxtra) March 11, 2018
The former Liverpool man then sped off in front of the car, with the Man United fan shocked to learn that Carragher had spat at his daughter.
The video then ends with the father distressed about the fact that she had been spat on, with Carragher later revealing on social media that he had apologised to the family personally and that he had been taunted for the majority of the trip home and lost his temper.
Totally out of order & Ive apologised personally to all the family this evening. I was goaded 3/4 times along the motorway while being filmed & lost my rag. No excuse apologies. https://t.co/ofrNfiwhYH— Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) March 11, 2018
Safe to say, he won’t be hearing the last of this for a while.
