Liverpool handed season defining boost as Barcelona make Coutinho decision
Liverpool may well be handed a massive boots right before the transfer window closes as it seems Barcelona may be losing faith in landing Philippe Coutinho.
They feel it’s cutting it too fine, and while they were caught off guard with the Neymar situation, now is the time to act and spend cash in order to bring replacements in.
Sport claim Barcelona have grown tired of waiting for Liverpool to make a decision, and will now move to Ligue 1 in search of their replacement.
They even claim the club could turn to former Real Madrid player Angel Di Maria, who is of course now at PSG – and certainly made it his job to taunt them in the Champions League last season.
They have also been heavily linked with Borussia Dortmund player Ousmane Dembele, who has gone AWOL from the German side and reportedly even left his house – which he rented off Jurgen Klopp – in a state such was his hurry to leave.
They’re also thought to be considering Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri, who they think could add to their squad and possibly become someone who breaks into the first team as well.
For their part, Liverpool have held firm on their stance over Coutinho, and want to keep the player – though quite where his mental state will be after handing in a transfer request and seeing his move fall through remains to be seen.
