Juventus take an early lead thanks to Dybala and Pjanic stunners
Juventus have taken an early lead in their Coppa Italia quarter-final tie against Milan thanks to two fantastic goals in from Paulo Dybala and Miralem Pjanic.
The current Serie A champions, and league leaders, host the Rossoneri as they look to maintain hopes of a domestic double this season.
Any nerves within Juve’s ranks, or in the stands for that matter, were eased when Argentine hotshot Dybala made it 1-0 after ten minutes.
After dominating the early stages, the Bianconeri made inroads down the left hand side when Kwadwo Asamoah, starting ahead of regular wing-back Alex Sandro, crossed for Dybala, who expertly took the ball down before smashing the ball past Milan’s teenage goalkeeping sensation Gianluigi Donnarumma.
If Milan boss Vincenzo Montella hoped for a quick response, he was left disappointed 11 minutes later when Bosnian midfielder, and set piece specialist, Pjanic, exquisitely placed the ball into the top left corner with a free kick from distance, giving Donnarumma no chance.
The winner of this tie will meet Napoli after their victory over Fiorentina on Tuesday night, meaning Gonzalo Higuain is likely to face his former club for a place in the final.
