Ajax starlet Justin Kluivert has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent months after Jose Mourinho was seen talking to the youngster after the Europa League final.

This season the 18-year-old has scored seven goals in 21 matches and Italian super agent Mino Raiola represents the player.

After United beat Ajax 2-0 in the Europa League final, TV cameras caught Mourinho sharing a moment with Kluivert. Then came claims that the United boss was attempting to tap the youngster up.

However, in the latest edition of FourFourTwo magazine, Justin Kluivert has explained what Mourinho said to him after that game:

“He said it was nice to see me again after such a long time, because he had known me when I was a baby. And he said it was nice to see that I was doing well.”

United may be well stocked with attacking wide players, but Mourinho doesn’t look like someone set on players for either flank, and he’s currently shoehorning new signing Alexis Sanchez into the system. That has left Marcus Rashford’s game time limited and Anthony Martial played out of position.

There is nothing concrete to suggest are in the hunt for Kluivert but I wouldn’t put it past agent Raiola trying to force his hand. He seems to like doing business with United. Cha-Ching!
