Jurgen Klopp has once again left the press room in stitches and gone viral on social media, after a brilliant response to a question about Emre Can’s future.
The midfielder has been heavily linked with an exit this summer, and given he will be out of contract and has thus far failed to sign a new one, it’s easy to see why.
When Klopp was asked about rumours Can is demanding £200,000 per week as his new salary, he replied in brilliant fashion – saying ‘It’s actually £250,000’ and followed it up with his trademark laughter.
He further elaborated on the situation when speaking to the Liverpool FC website, saying: “Where the situation is at, at the moment: open.
“That’s what we [have] said before, nothing is decided, it’s open. We are in talks with him and it’s all good so far, apart from him signing a contract for us, that’s all.
“No problem with that.”
While the future of Can may be up in the air, one man who Liverpool will be desperate to hold on to is Mo Salah, who has been stunning this season and netted his 37th goal of the season to see the Reds come from behind to win against Crystal Palace, who have been a bogey team in recent seasons.
