Jose Mourinho has the worst excuse ever for Zlatan's penalty miss
In possibly the worst excuse of all time, Jose Mourinho has offered a reason for Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s penalty miss.
Jose, naturally, was not about to blame any of his players, including Zlatan, who of course missed. No, he blamed the officials for not giving United enough penalties – so they stopped bothering to practice them in training.
Jose said “For four months we have not had a penalty, so we didn’t train penalties.
“The day we have penalties the guys are not ready.”
That of course won’t wash with the majority of people, who will firstly think that Ibra should be scoring those chances, and secondly that the club almost certainly practiced penalties before the EFL Cup final, which could well have been decided on them.
Either way, United have dropped too many points at home this season, and it’s just another way for Mourinho to deflect attention away from his side who are failing to take their chances – and from Zlatan, who could well be facing a lengthy suspension to boot.
All in all, a day to forget for United.
