Jesse Lingard trolled Arsenal fans on Instagram after scoring one of the goals in Manchester United’s win over the Gunners in the FA Cup on Friday night. It was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s eighth win in charge of the club, as his chances of taking the manager’s job on a permanent basis grow by the week.

This was arguably his most impressive victory. United were excellent throughout the game, with goals from Alexis Sanchez, on his first return to the Emirates Stadium since leaving a year ago, Lingard and Anthony Martial, inspiring the Red Devils.

Their quality on the counter attack was clear, with Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku also excelling. Many supporters would even prefer Solskjaer to take the job over the likes of Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane, who had previously been

The freedom United are playing with is infectious. Lingard is really enjoying his football right now, and he took to Instagram to showcase his moonwalking celebration, which patently wound up the Arsenal fans, especially when he tagged his location as ‘dancefloor’ rather than the stadium. He certainly seemed to take pride in his Michael Jackson impressions, which did seem pretty realistic, to be fair.

Lingard is known for his dance moves, as he showed when he scored in last season’s 3-1 win at the Emirates. He is also a huge presence on social media, alongside Pogba. When things weren’t going well for Mourinho earlier in the season, that was held against both players as they weren’t performing well. But now they are in form, it is clear that the online presence can help their confidence and enjoyment of football.

Next up for United is a Premier League game with Burnley at Old Trafford on Tuesday night. Solskjaer’s men are well and truly back in the race for the Champions League this season.

Having been 11 points adrift of fourth place when Mourinho was sacked in December, they are now level on points with Arsenal and just three points behind Chelsea. Confidence that they could retain a place in the competition is certainly growing.

Of course, Lingard and co. have a tie with Paris Saint-Germain coming up in February, and they will believe they can go all the way.
