Mohamed Salah won the FIFA Puskas Award for the best goal of the last year on Monday evening, and James Milner reacted best.
After an impressive year, which saw the Egyptian score over 40 goals for Liverpool in all competitions, he was in the running for the Best Player Award. Although Luka Modric won that particular accolade, Salah did not leave the event empty handed.
But the choice of goal, scored in the Merseyside Derby against Everton, was controversial at the very least. Milner, his Reds teammate, summed up the feeling perfectly.
Congrats @MoSalah on your 7th best goal from last season winning goal of the year 😜 #Baller#Topbin#oneofmanyworldies https://t.co/OkNMlIsNLb

It hasn’t been the best start to the season for Salah personally, but Liverpool top the Premier League with a 100% récord so far this season. They face a double-header against his former club Chelsea this week, first in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday and then the league at the weekend.
Reds fans will hope Salah’s goal against Southampton on Saturday will get him back on track as he looks to win the Golden Boot for the second season in succession.
