Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has some hard decisions to make according to former player Paul Scholes.
He thinks that Alexis Sanchez will be deployed on the left hand side of the attack – but that all United’s best forwards also want to play there – and do their best work there.
Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and Alexis all want to be coming in from the left and bombing down that flank, but apparently, Mourinho will pick Alexis there as he has the most to offer – and is of course the star signing of the window just gone and has already caused issues in terms of Paul Pogba’s role in the side.
“I think he plays at his best on the left-hand side,” Scholes said of Sanchez on BT Sport.
“I think that’s where he’s played his best football throughout his career, whether it be at Barca or whether it be at Arsenal.

“I think the problem the manager has at the minute is I think four of his forward players want to play on the left-hand side.
“I think Lingard would like to play there, I think Martial would like to play there and I think Rashford would like to play there.
“But I think he does all his best work from there.
“He’s got great ability, great feet, great on the ball, beats a man, he makes really intelligent runs inside.
“As soon as he comes into the middle of the park I think he struggles, I don’t think he’s aware of what’s around him and it makes it easier for the other team to play against.
“He’s started okay, his United career, it’s not been magnificent, it’s not been brilliant so far but I expect more to come from him.”
