Huge claim made about Manchester City v Liverpool
It’s not been the best of weeks for Manchester City, who have now conceded three goals to Liverpool and another three to Manchester United – making it six goals and two losses in a matter of days.
For a team who are supposed to be the best the league has potentially ever seen, it’s far from ideal and despite going 2-0 up, Manchester City lost at home to United – and now have to wait to officially claim the Premier League title. m
Of course, two losses over the entire season is nothing to mock, and the side will lift the title, with it being a matter of when and not if.
However, their 3-0 defeat at Anfield has proven more difficult to overcome, and in the second leg, the club would have to score four goals without reply to qualify – and while some think that’s a step too far, Robbie Savage thinks that this time, Liverpool could be on the wrong end of a 3-0 comeback.
He noted that the odds are in Liverpool’s favour – but that anything can happen, and while City will be tired, they will have to pull off one of the all-time great European comebacks to go through.
“This City team can be beaten. They should have been 6-0 up at half-time but they have a weakness,” Savage said on BBC Radio 5Live.

“My worry for City is that after seeing how much they gave tonight, I can’t see them coming back against Liverpool now.
“They are shattered. They tried to win the league tonight and it will be a bigger comeback than Liverpool winning in Istanbul if they win in midweek now.
“It will take one of the great European comebacks.”
