Here's what Antonio Conte screamed at Jose Mourinho on the touchline
The ill-tempered clash between Manchester United and Chelsea in the FA Cup was talked about for several reasons.
One, because Chelsea won and were on their way to the semi finals, two, because for as bad as Paul Pogba was, N’Golo Kante was good, and three, because of the referee.
However, it’s the fourth and final reason that may well be the most compelling. The touchline argument between Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, who really do not seem to like each other very much at all.
It’s not the first time the pair have clashed, nearly coming to blows in the Premier League game at Stamford Bridge, earlier in the season as well, but it adds to the intriguing soap opera surrounding Chelsea’s old manager, and their new manager – not to mention who the fans were backing.
Mourinho made his thoughts very clear in his post match interview, while Antonio Conte was slightly quieter about his issues – only hinting that Man United were physical and aggressive, and didn’t try to play much football.
However, it’s now emerged that Conte was shouting at Mourinho on the touchline, angry that his side were being fouled ‘again, again, again’ – and even screamed ‘play the ball ‘ at the Man United boss at one point.
There’s no denying United were trying to break up play and did foul a few of the Chelsea players, but Mourinho was predictably having none of it during his post match interview, and blamed it all on the referee. Classic Jose.
