Gigi Buffon makes huge Neymar claim after Brazil World Cup exit

Gigi Buffon has come out in support of Neymar after the player saw his Brazil side crash out of the World Cup.

Neymar was expected to have a wonderful tournament and show everyone just what a world class player he really is, yet that didn’t happen – and the player was outshone by Philippe Coutinho on the field and criticised heavily for playacting as well.

Now, amid more questions over the player and just when he’s finally going to show how amazing he can be, Buffon has claimed this will only make him stronger.

Given Neymar moved to PSG in order to show how good he is, and spent the season unhappy, in and out of the team for various reasons and seeing injury curtail his hopes, the World Cup was set to be his big comeback – and that failed to pan out.

However, Buffon has plenty of faith in the forward, and spoke at his PSG presentation, backing Neymar to win everything with the Ligue 1 side, a given considering Buffon now reads from the PSG propaganda book as well.

“I think that it happens to everyone to get difficult moments.

“In life, first of all, and during our careers. But there are moments that make us stronger.

“Neymar can come back in Paris with the envy to win everything. It’s a good thing for him and the club.”

There is of course no guarantee Neymar will even remain at PSG next season, with the player himself possibly on the move to Real Madrid, to fill the vacancy left by Cristiano Ronaldo, who is of course going to Buffon’s old club Juventus.

Buffon himself must be wondering if leaving Juve was such a good idea considering he wants to win the Champions League more than anything, and Ronaldo is of course Mr Champions League – meaning Juventus will fancy their chances next season.
