During Juventus’ 2-2 draw with Tottenham in the Champion League on Tuesday, fans were less than kind about Gianluigi Buffon’s performance.
The 40-year-old Italian legend could have saved both of Spurs’ goals, scored by Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen. Many people began to accuse him of being past it.

But Lineker subtly jumped to Buffon’s defence with a tweet pointing out his longevity when he made a stunning save from Kane in the second half.
