Gareth Bale apologies to the world after Real Madrid red card
Gareth Bale was seen as the villain on Wednesday night when he was sent off in Real Madrid’s LaLiga clash against Las Palmas.
Bale lost his cool with Jonathan Viera before pushing the Las Palmas player in front of the referee.
At the time of the sending off both sides were level at 1-1. However, Las Palmas then made it 3-1 while Madrid’s Alvaro Morata had three goals called offside. At least one of those was the wrong decision.
But it wasn’t all doom and gloom for Real Madrid. Thanks to two late goals by Cristiano Ronaldo, a 10-man Los Blancos side secured a point to remain on top of LaLiga.
Speaking to Real Madrid TV after the match, Bale sounded apologetic when asked about his actions:
“I do not think it’s a red, he pushed me & I give it back to him, I want to apologize to the team, to my teammates & the whole world…. I hope to learn from this today & try not to repeat this in the future.”
He added: “We have a difficult match this weekend at Eibar and two days later we face Napoli in the Champions League. We have to keep fighting in every game.”
