Former Premier League striker returns to old club on short-term deal
Former Chelsea striker Demba Ba has re-signed for Turkish side Besiktas from Shanghai Shenhua on a deal until the end of the season, report Sky Sports.
Ba, 31, will look to kick-start his career after recovering from a horrific leg break recently. The Birmingham Mail had suggested the Senegalese star was a target for another of his former sides, West Ham.
Slaven Bilic was Ba’s coach in his first spell in Turkey, but nothing more than speculation surfaced over a possible reunion at the London Stadium.
Having also proven himself a big hit in England with Newcastle United and Chelsea, some may be surprised at Ba’s choice of move, but it remains to be seen whether he can recapture his best form.
But his future was in doubt when Shanghai made Argentine legend Carlos Tevez, 32, the highest paid player in the world when they signed him from Boca Juniors in December.
