Five possible Premier League destinations for N’Golo Kante this summer as Leicester City exit looms

Whilst the city of Leicester may now officially be in party mode following their club’s historic Premier League triumph, it seems as though that Claudio Ranieri will be spending less time partying this summer, and more time trying to convince his best players to remain at the King Power Stadium for another season.

Despite the Foxes’ incredible achievement, it is understood that some key players may leave the club before the start of next season. One player who has been continuously linked with a summer move away from the club, is 25-year-old midfielder N’Golo Kante. The French international has been an integral reason for Leicester’s incredible success this season, but the player has been rather reluctant to commit his future to the club.

Speaking in April, the midfielder revealed he was flattered with apparent interest in his services from some of England’s top clubs, but refused to be drawn on specific transfer speculation during the season.

N’Golo Kante was signed by the Foxes from French Ligue 1 club Caen last summer for a fee of £5.6million, and should Leicester decide to cash in on one of their most coveted assets, they would command a fee of around five times the size of that figure.

Here, we take a look at five possible Premier League destinations for N’Golo Kante, should he seek a move away from Leicester.

Man United

Recent rumours suggest that the United hierarchy have already held talks with Leicester chiefs, and that a deal involving Brazilian midfielder Andreas Pereira could be on the cards.

There is no doubt that the Frenchman fits the bill for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger and this is the sort of signing Arsenal need to challenge for the title next season, but will Arsene Wenger spend the money required?

Manchester City

The Blues certainly have the finances to make the transfer happen, but would the 25-year-old suit incoming City boss Pep Guardiola’s notorious tiki-taka brand of football?

Incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is believed to be a big admirer of the Frenchman and the Italian will be keen to add more steel and dynamism to his midfield. This transfer could happen.

Whilst Mauricio Pochettino’s young side would be an attractive proposition for many at the moment, it is doubtful that the club could afford such a transfer. Take recent stories linking the Frenchman with a move to Spurs with a pinch of salt.
