Sergio Ramos is no stranger to playing the role of pantomime villain, and he was cast again during Real Madrid’s 5-0 win at Viktoria Plzen on Wednesday night.
It was the first European game in charge for Santi Solari, who has replaced Julen Lopetegui on a temporary basis after the former Spain boss was sacked.
But rather than focussing on a brilliant attacking display from Los Blancos, many were left wondering how Ramos was not sent off for an apparent elbow on Plzen’s Milan Havel, which left him with a bloody nose.
It didn’t take long for people to take to Twitter and voice their displeasure at the lack of punishment for the 32-year-old Los Blancos captain.

Sergio Ramos' commitment to being an asshole is unparalleled. there was no reason for this – he simply couldn't help himself. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ pic.twitter.com/WxcVdvFYpg

Human dirtbag Ramos just elbowed a player in the face and split his nose open, blood pouring and the ref did nothing, must be a day ending in y. Fantastic job all of you.

Liverpool fans are still yet to forgive him for his role in Mohamed Salah’s elbow injury back in last season’s Champions League final.
