Everton target shock move for world-class Arsenal contract rebel
Everton are set to make a move for one of Arsenal’s world-class contract rebel’s in the January window in a deal that would send a message to their rivals.
That player is Alexis Sanchez and reports on Sunday suggest that Everton will actually make a move for the Chilean in the January transfer window with Paris Saint Germain and Manchester City also linked.
Sanchez looks unwilling to stay at Arsenal past the next summer transfer window and can leave in the summer of 2018 on a free transfer if he likes, but it is expected he will be sold in January so that Arsenal can raise some funds.
The quoted price is said to be £30million and Everton are looking to throw their hat in the ring and test the water over a potential move for Alexis, but realistically they won’t get very far in their queries.
Alexis looks set on a move to Manchester City to join up with former manager Pep Guardiola after a summer move fell through at the 11th hour following Arsenal’s pursuit of Thomas Lemar falling through.
Whether Everton will turn their attention elsewhere is yet to be seen but they need something to save their season after Ronald Koeman was sacked on Monday.
U23’s manager David Unsworth is currently in temporary charge with Sean Dyche the favourite for the Everton job.
