Everton Fans Loved Wayne Rooney's Reaction To Paul Pogba
Everton fans were pleased to see Wayne Rooney focused on facing his former club Manchester United before the game rather than catching up with his old friends.
The 32-year-old was captaining the Toffees against United, for whom he is the all time top goalscorer, and cameras showed him completely ignoring the opposition, including the visitors’ stand-in skipper Paul Pogba, who could be seen shaking hands with a number of players on both sides.
Rooney’s focus did help him and his team put in a good first half performance, and though he did make an error that led to a United opener, the Everton crowd were not pleased to see him substituted around the hour mark.
That’s the difference in modern day football, Pogba as captain shaking every Everton player’s hand in the tunnel, Rooney comes out as captain and doesn’t shake one man utd player’s hand, against his old team, legend— Scott Wilson (@scottwilson_28) January 1, 2018

Some people believed Pogba should have acted more like Rooney before the game, but it didn’t matter in the end. Goals from Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial lifted United back into second ahead of the FA Cup break.
